Let me tell you how aero yoga changed my life...
I never thought I would be the kind of person who would practice yoga areo yoga. Practicing yoga in the air seemed like an activity that was definitely out of my league…

For years, I had associated yoga with people who were incredibly flexible, calm, athletic, and somehow able to twist themselves into impossible positions without breaking a sweat. I was none of those things...
I was more of a “constantly busy and stressed” type of person. Then I discovered aero yoga.
At first, I was simply curious. I had seen pictures of people suspended from beautiful fabric hammocks, floating upside down as if gravity didn't exist. It looked fun, but also slightly terrifying.
One day, a friend of mine came to visit me here in Seville and she dared me to try one class with her…
I had no idea that stepping into that studio would eventually change the way I thought about exercise, my body, and even myself.
My First Aero Yoga Class
I remember looking at the hammock and thinking: There is absolutely no way I'm going to be able to do this.
I wasn't particularly flexible. My balance wasn't great, and the idea of putting my weight into a piece of fabric hanging from the ceiling made me nervous.
Fátima, the instructor, immediately reassured me that I didn't need any previous experience. That was one of the first things I loved about aero yoga: I didn't have to arrive already knowing how to do it.
The first part of the class was surprisingly familiar. We warmed up, stretched, focused on our breathing, and learned how to use the hammock.
Then came the moment when my feet left the floor.
I was nervous.
But I was also smiling.
There was something incredibly liberating about realizing that I was capable of doing something that, just a few minutes earlier, had seemed impossible.
I Didn't Expect Aero Yoga to Be a Workout
I'll admit it: before trying it, I thought aero yoga would mostly involve relaxing in a hammock.
I was very wrong. My muscles were working constantly.
Keeping myself stable required concentration. My core was engaged. My arms and legs were working. Even simple movements demanded coordination and control.
The next day, I could definitely feel that I had exercised. But it didn't feel like the kind of workout I had always struggled to enjoy. It felt playful.
I wasn't watching the clock.
I wasn't thinking about how many minutes were left.
I was simply trying to understand what my body could do.
And that made a huge difference.
What Aero Yoga Has Given Me
After that day I decided to try again…And again…Until I decided that aero yoga was definitely a habit worth keeping so I became a regular at Lemon Yoga Sevilla.
Very soon I started to notice importante changes within me…
Aero Yoga Taught Me to Listen to My Body
Suddenly I started paying attencion to my body. Before aero yoga, I spent most of my days thinking about what I had to do: work, emails, family, responsibilities…
But during class I was so focused on my body that everything else disappeared. During aero yoga class I was only “worried” about, my breathing, my posture…Or noticing if I was tense or needed to slow down or readjust.
For an hour, there was nowhere else to be. That’s when I realized how rarely I gave myself that kind of attention.
I Started Becoming More Flexible
Flexibility wasn't my main reason for continuing with aero yoga, but it became one of the benefits I noticed over time.
At first, some stretches felt uncomfortable simply because my body wasn't used to them. But Fátima taught me not to force anything.
Instead, I learned to work gradually with the support of the hammock. And, little by little, movements that had once felt difficult…Became easier.
I could reach a little further. Hold a position a little longer. Move with a little more freedom. The changes weren't dramatic from one class to the next. But after several weeks, I could feel the difference.
And that taught me something important: Progress doesn't always announce itself. Sometimes you only notice it when you look back.

My Strength Changed Too
Aero yoga also made me stronger. I hadn't expected that.
Some of the movements look beautiful and effortless when you watch an experienced practitioner. What you don't see immediately is how much muscular control is required to make them look that way.
My core became stronger.
My balance improved.
I became more aware of my posture.
I developed better control over my movements.
And perhaps most importantly, I stopped thinking about strength purely in terms of how much weight I could lift.
Strength could also mean stability, control, coordination…And trusting my body.
Aero Yoga Helped Me Become More Confident
I don't think aero yoga magically transformed my personality but it gave me lots of small opportunities to practice confidence.
Every class presented a little challenge: a new position, a new stretch, a new balance exercise…A movement I hadn't been able to do before.
Sometimes I succeeded. Sometimes I didn't. And eventually, I stopped seeing that as a problem.
I began to understand that not being able to do something today didn't mean I wouldn't be able to do it tomorrow. That lesson started following me outside the studio.
I became more willing to try. More willing to be a beginner. More comfortable making mistakes. And less obsessed with being immediately good at everything.

I feel grateful to that friend who dared me to try my first class
Because when I think about aero yoga now, I don't just think about hammocks, inversions, stretching, or strength.I think about perspective.
Sometimes, literally changing your position can help you see things differently.
Thanks to my commitment to yoga I learned something much more valuable
I learned to slow down.
To breathe.
To trust my body.
To accept being a beginner.
To celebrate small progress.
And to enjoy moving simply because I can.
Maybe that's why aero yoga has become such an important part of my life.
It didn't just teach me how to move through the air. It taught me how to feel more at home in my own body. If you want to try it to, I strongly recommend Fátima’s classes in Lemon Yoga Sevilla.
